The Question that still remains in KC is can Lorenzo Cain Produce offensively. Taking the roll of Melky Cabrera, who had a .302 Batting Average last season, along with 18 home runs and 78 RBI`s, Who was traded to the San francisco Giants on November 7, 2011, for left-handed pitcher Jonathan Sanchez and Minor league pitcher Ryan Verdugo. Cain has big shoes to fill in centerfield this season, with an arm Like a young Jose Guillen, the Royals are hoping, this once Rookie all-star, can pull though this season and become a Melky Cabrera like player. Although last season Cain did hit for a .273 Average in the 6 starts he got for the Royals. not to mention While in Triple-A Omaha he hit an impressive .312, along with 16 homers, and 81 RBI`s. Not to shabby ehh? With spring training now under way, we will see how Cain can fair this season, with that new 1 year contract of $480,850, Hopefully he can prove he's worth a longer contract and bigger Pay check.
