Royals hit a Hosmer!

Hosmer, who was called up to the Royals early last May, responded with a great rookie season,Which included 19 home runs, 27 doubles, 78 RBIs and a .293 average in 128 games. This has resulted with the first baseman signing a 2012 contract for $502,500, or $22,500 more than the big league minimum salary of $480,000. Thats a pretty good deal in my opinion, but in order for him to get a bigger longer deal, he's going to have to at least hit .325 for an average this season, have 45 doubles, and have at least 30 homers this season. then across the field, Hosmers right hand man third baseman Mike Moustakas, signed for $487,250. Not to shabby for him either, Moustakas hit .379 in his final 36 games, and had only 5 homers in the 89 games he started. Finally the to top off the off season. the Royals called up Triple A center fielder Lorenzo Cain, who is getting a chance this spring to become the Royals' starting center fielder. He signed a $480,850 contract after hitting .312 last season for Triple-A Omaha. Cain was part of the Zack Greinke trade with Milwaukee and is expected to take over for Melky Cabrera, who was dealt to San Francisco last November. So look for more things to come from the Royals this spring.
