Cain He Do It?

http://www.bing.com/videos/watch/video/royals-outfield-breakdown/12yfomeo?src=v5%3ashare%3afacebook%3a&from=sharepermalink-facebook

The Question that still remains in KC is can Lorenzo Cain Produce offensively. Taking the roll of Melky Cabrera, who had a .302 Batting Average last season, along with 18 home runs and 78 RBI`s, Who was traded to the San francisco Giants on November 7, 2011, for  left-handed pitcher Jonathan Sanchez and Minor league pitcher Ryan Verdugo. Cain has big shoes to fill in centerfield this season, with an arm Like a young Jose Guillen, the Royals are hoping, this once Rookie all-star, can pull though this season and become a Melky Cabrera like player. Although last season Cain did hit for a .273 Average in the 6 starts he got for the Royals. not to mention While in Triple-A Omaha he hit an impressive .312, along with 16 homers, and 81 RBI`s. Not to shabby ehh? With spring training now under way, we will see how Cain can fair this season, with that new 1 year contract of $480,850, Hopefully he can prove he's worth a longer contract and bigger Pay check.

Perezy Good!

Catcher Salvador Perez wowed his teammates the other day, showing great work ethic and and his great attributes as a catcher.

"He really, really impressed me," Hochevar said. "Granted, I was spoiled throwing to [Jason] Kendall. He taught me a lot about navigating through a lineup, game planning and game calling, and he can catch and throw with the best of them. He taught me a lot, and knowing what I learned from Kendall and having Perez step in back there, I was impressed.
"I told him my game plan and he did not skip a beat. What I like about him is that he wants to be good and he wants his pitchers to be good, so he puts forth the effort and prepares for a lineup. So you tell him what you want to do or give him a report on how you want to pitch a guy, and the kid goes home and studies it. He drills it in his head, that this is how I'm going to do it, so when the game comes it's just second nature to him."
when this was mentioned to perez he simply said,"It's my job," he said, laughing. "I have to try."

If only all the royals would show this kind of work ethic, through out the entire season, then maybe they could actually make some noise in the AL Central. Then again who knows, Maybe they will. we will just have to wait and see.

Royal Surprise!

This Tuesday, the Young and Eager Royals will be arriving to Surprise Arizona a little bit early. There they'll be joined by most of their infielders and outfielders, who actually aren't scheduled for their first workout until Saturday, But never mind the calendar, most of the Royals' 57 players have already been around camp for days, some of them longer. Here is a Quote By Royals pitcher Aaron Crow, Who said "Everybody's here like a week early, and it shows everybody cares, everybody's ready to do the work and work hard," then he ended with this did bit, "It's a good sign of things to come, I think." Not to Confident form this All-Star pitcher. Well Mr. Crow Lets hope your first choice of words are correct and that this team is Finally ready to care more and do hard work. That`s all we ask as fans.

Royals hit a Hosmer!

Hosmer, who was called up to the Royals early last May, responded with a great rookie season,Which included 19 home runs, 27 doubles, 78 RBIs and a .293 average in 128 games. This has resulted with the first baseman signing a 2012 contract for $502,500, or $22,500 more than the big league minimum salary of $480,000. Thats a pretty good deal in my opinion, but in order for him to get a bigger longer deal, he's going to have to at least hit .325 for an average this season, have 45 doubles, and have at least 30 homers this season. then across the field, Hosmers right hand man third baseman Mike Moustakas, signed for $487,250. Not to shabby for him either, Moustakas hit .379 in his final 36 games, and had only 5 homers in the 89 games he started. Finally the to top off the off season. the Royals called up Triple A center fielder Lorenzo Cain, who is getting a chance this spring to become the Royals' starting center fielder. He signed a $480,850 contract after hitting .312 last season for Triple-A Omaha. Cain was part of the Zack Greinke trade with Milwaukee and is expected to take over for Melky Cabrera, who was dealt to San Francisco last November. So look for more things to come from the Royals this spring.

Farming again!

The Royals just added Outfielder Ramon Hernandez Jorrin to there roster, yet he will be starting in class A ball. He is strong right handed thrower from Cuba, looking to make his way to the Majors by mid season."We had a chance to watch him play in games and we liked him," general manager Dayton Moore said. "Several other teams were trying to sign him as well. He's not a big high-profile guy, but he's had some success in the Cuban professional league. He's been in our academy, our scouts like him and [international scout] Rene Francisco felt we should sign him." well they did just that on saturday morning of Febuary 6th, 2012. Just what they need though right, another farm player. this Organization rides on youngsters and if they do become good, they trade them away. So if he turns out to be good, then chances are he will be out of Kc by next season. so good luck to the new guy, and I wish him the best.
